What is a District Leader ?

District Leaders are unpaid elected party officials who serve two year terms and must reside within the district they represent. One female and one male District Leader represent the voters within their Assembly District (the one exception is the the 82nd Assembly District which is split into Part A & Part B, therefore they are represented by four District Leaders).

A District Leader's official duties include electing the Chair of the County Democratic Party, recommending election workers at local poll sites, recruiting county committee members, acting as a community liaison between the community and Elected Officials. Lastly, District Leaders seek to organize political activities in their districts to promote active participation in our democracy amongst fellow Democrats.
